Leslie Drennan
Leslie is an Atlanta-based visual artist and craftsperson whose work draws upon the details of life: footsteps, birdsong, repetitive habits, garbage, the impact of time and weather, new growth in spring and the dormancy of winter. Her
craft-heavy background earned her a respect for raw materials and many methods of art-making. As she investigates what humans leave behind as they journey through life and nature, building and destroying, she is interested in sustainable studio practices; often using traditional waste materials to inform new work. Collaboration finds its way into many of her pieces through work with family, animals, and natural processes. The observations found in the details of existence are ultimately reflections on time. Her investigation spans many materials and methods in order to capture the nuance of a singular moment or experience.
