LMickey Boyd was born in the Bay Area of California, but moved to the Front Range of Colorado in the early part of his life. He was born the youngest in a blended family of four boys. Living on a ranch in the plains of central Colorado provided an essential understanding and love of the vast amount of space that exists in the American West. Experiences working in his fathers shop and appreciating the big sky of his family’s home provided a basis for the work that he makes today. He is currently based out of Athens Georgia, and is a Masters of Fine Arts candidate at the University of Georgia.
Boyd’s work in a recent collaborative exhibition entitled Waste Creation.
