The Liu Shiming Art Foundation proudly recognizes Eve Miller as 2024-2025 recipient of the Liu Shiming Scholarship at the University of Cincinnati. A dedicated fifth-year student at the School of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), Eve is completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Sociology. Her work, which seamlessly integrates artistic innovation with a deep commitment to social engagement, highlights her talent in bridging creative expression with community impact.
Born and raised in Athens, Ohio, Eve Miller’s artistic development has been shaped by the dynamic mural culture of Cincinnati, which initially drew her to study at DAAP. Her diverse body of work spans various mediums such as digital art, pen and ink, and multimedia bookmaking. Yet, her strongest connection lies with zine-making and bookmaking, where she finds the most personal resonance in their ability to convey powerful narratives and emotions. Among her recent accomplishments is a community mural at the Corryville Community Center, a collaborative project that reflects the vibrancy and energy of the
local community.
Receiving the Liu Shiming Scholarship marks a transformative milestone in Eve Miller’s academic and creative journey. With this financial support, she can fully dedicate herself to completing her thesis and final semester, free from the constraints of tuition concerns. Deeply moved by Liu Shiming’s artistic legacy, Eve draws inspiration from his focus on capturing everyday life, a theme she mirrors in her own work as she explores intimate, meaningful moments through her art.
